On the 25th, 26th and 27th of April 2008 there was a great event in Safaripark Beekse Bergen, where at the 27th of April there were also Ocicat's to admire.

The spotted special on the Easter show of Mundikat was fantastic. Their were 33 Ocicats present at the show on the 12th of April, which was a record. The Ocicat Club Holland has shown herself at her best and most Oci's have won a price.

Mundikatshow of April 12th 2009 - special spotted cats -

Once it became known that Mundikat would organize this spotted special, the Ocicat Club Holland spread the word within and outside the Dutch borders.
This brought several foreign guests with their beautiful Ocicats.

There were also a number of club members who came for the first time to a show with their cat.

During the built of the show (two days before) all “club cages” were dressed with blue mats and curtains, especially to make things easy for the beginners. Therefore, these newcomers could come in stress-free and their cats could immediately enter their cages. Then there was the opportunity to relax from the trip, the early hour and all unknown things.

For the entire special there was a breakfast table. All owners of the spotted cats could refresh richly with coffee, tea and soft drinks and fill their plates (and stomachs) with bread, rolls, cold cuts, cheese and sweet as sprinkles, jam and honey.

Several members also had brought along a "voluntary gift " in the form of homemade goodies (a delicious sugarbread) or biscuits, sweets and chips. That of course was very much appreciated.

Mundikat had organized it so that the (first) judgings of the special would take place inside the square. After the judges had seated themselfs the cats were summoned.

It was very pleasant to see that the exhibitors and the public were involved much narrower this way in the judging.

It became common to see a complete group standing around the judges table all the time. To many cats an explanation was given so that everyone got some insight as to what a judge pays attention to.

For lunch there were salads, rolls, toasts etc.

The cats which continued for best in show, had to come to the podium for further testings.

Mundikat had also provided a place where we could arrange our clubstand with our many promotional stuff. That day, among other things, we sold birthday calendars, T-shirts, pens, our special Ocicatbeer and magnets. Flyers were also handed out a lot (in Dutch, German and English) concerning the Ocicat and our club.

Logically we also stood still at the first anniversary of the existence of the club. A delicious cake could not be lacking. An employee of ProPlan had been found willing and eager to cut the cake.

It was fantastic that there were no less than 33 Ocicats present on one show. Of the many cups, rosettes and food prices which Mundikat had put available, a considerable number have gone to
cats of our club.

It was so very nice to see that all members present socialised in a pleasant way with each other. People who did not know each other at the beginning of the day, sat as friends, warned each other as a cat was summoned to the judges and helped each other. As a result, we have also radiated to the outside world that we are a real club, that we are a group of people striving for the same aim: promoting the superb race of the Ocicat.
